Bruce was our neighbor for many years. He was a kind person that will be missed. We enjoyed watching Barry & Julia wait for the bus for their first day of kindergarten & the years after as well as Jill and Josh.

Bruce and I worked together as volunteers for the SCORE organization for many years. He was a great mentor and always had great ideas, encouragement and advice for our clients. He had a great sense of humor and a positive outlook. He will be missed by all who had the chance to work with him.
May his memory be a blessing.

Bruce had a wonderful sense of humor. As SCORE Chapter Treasurer, it’s the first time the treasurers report was something to forward to.
Bruce will be missed.

On behalf of the 70 plus volunteers who make up the North Cook and Lake Counties Chapter of SCORE, along with many of our District, Regional and Headquarters leadership, please accept our sincere condolences on your family’s loss.
Many of us worked closely with Bruce over his almost six years with SCORE. He started with SCORE Chicago in 2016, and in October 2018, was part of the implementation of, and continued his SCORE service, with the “new” North Cook and Lake Counties Chapter. During his SCORE tenure, Bruce mentored entrepreneurs and small business owners regularly in our Evanston and Highland Park locations and helped open our North Chicago City Hall location. His knowledge of accounting and finance, combined with his experiences as the owner of a plastics injection molding company, gave him a unique skill set that helped countless SCORE clients, and always complimented his co-mentoring partners’ abilities. As North Cook and Lake Counties Treasurer, Bruce was the key to our chapter’s success as one of the first chapters to implement the current SCORE national accounting system.
Bruce was a shining example of “today’s volunteers”. We know he had many interests, and generously dedicated his time, knowledge and support to each activity in which he engaged. His dedication to service set a very high “bar” for the rest of us. His SCORE service record shows that he spent an average of approximately 270 hours every year working with his clients, and that was only the recorded time. He spent much more time researching, reviewing their information, and conscientiously studying all alternatives he could offer. He is known to have helped save businesses from failures that would have caused employees and owners financial hardships, and he is known to have helped any number of businesses open or improve. We will miss his sense of humor and positive attitude, and remind ourselves of his integrity, humility and compassion. He was a most wonderful person and a true inspiration.
May his memory be a blessing.
